Celebrate Easter Weekend And Spring With Colour

Us Girls are very ready for spring and really looking forward to this long weekend!

There are so many great ways to brighten your home for Easter and here are just a few of the things that we are doing!

Anytime of year we love fresh flowers and this weekend Spring Flowers are a must!

Hand painted easter eggs are always a fun activity if you have little ones and they also can be used as a centrepiece on your table. Adding bright spring colours to your table will make it look fresh. We have some ceramic bunnies and colourful felt easter eggs that we like to put on a crystal tray to brighten the kitchen!

When you set your table or are using napkins around the house this weekend pick up a few Easter styles. These small touches will go a long way!

We are busy this weekend helping people like you prepare for easter parties and sunday brunches! For any last minute needs be sure to contact us!

Help Your Hands This Winter

As the cold weather continues in Ontario us girls rely on O’Keeffe’s Working Hands Hand Cream. We have tried many creams over the years and this product does wonders!

If you are looking to really moisturize then try putting the cream on your hands before you go to bed and wear a pair of gloves such as these purple ones by Quo for extra effectiveness! They also make a cream for your feet.

The product can be found at any Canadian Tire. Trust us, it is worth the trip! The gloves can be found at Shopper’s Drug Mart.

Looking To Buy Or Sell An iPhone? Try Orchard

The idea is simple and the process is even easier! Orchard finally makes selling or buying an iPhone easy. When the iPhone 6 hit the market us Girls upgraded our phones and did not want to deal with the hassle of trying to sell our phones so we thought “Let’s use Orchard”.

Here is how selling works:

You start by downloading the application on your iPhone and run the program.

Step 1 & 2:

Orchard iOS 7 WHITE (5).028

Step 3, 4 & 5:

Orchard iOS 7 WHITE (5).031

Orchard iOS 7 WHITE (5).067

After testing the iPhone you will find out the approximate value.

Orchard iOS 7 WHITE (5).071

Once you have gone through these steps which takes less than 5 minutes Orchard will send you a package in the mail for your iPhone. All that is required is to send your used iPhone to their office and you will receive an email notification that they have your phone and will be sending your payment to you. It typically takes 24-48 hours to process the e-Transfer, which is sent to the email address you provide.

We asked Alex Sebastian one of the Co-Founders of Orchard about his business. This is what he had to say “Creating Orchard was always about enabling people to buy and sell used technology. It sounds simple, but the other options available are often a nightmare to use. Who wants to haggle with someone at a mutually-inconvenient subway station just to sell your phone? Buyers can be pretty difficult to deal with when they have no real way of knowing if what they’re buying actually works or isn’t stolen, and who can blame them? That’s why Orchard steps in to facilitate all aspects of the sale. As a seller, you deal with us, and we deal with everything else.”

If you are looking to purchase an iPhone for yourself, a parent, a child or to use while travelling abroad this is a great platform to look at.

We highly recommend this company!

Winter Activities in Southern Ontario

Make the most of our winter by getting outside and being active. Here are some of our favourite activities!

1. Snowshoeing

Snowshoeing is a great way to get some fresh air without too much exertion. Our top recommendation is Scenic Caves Nature Adventures located at the top of Blue Mountain in Collingwood. They have a great suspension bridge that you can snowshoe across. The facility also offers great cross-country skiing trails.

2. Cross-Country Skiing
Hilton Falls offers 16km of trails just a short drive outside of the city. The trails are suitable for all levels and they offer half day and full day rentals. For more information visit Conservation Halton. Note that they have not been open this season due to minimal snowfall so make sure you call them before you arrive to avoid disappointment!

If you are willing to drive slightly further and north of the city then Horseshoe Resort which offers 40km of groomed tracks is our top pick! Since they are north of Barrie they have had great snowfall this season. If you are an experienced cross-country skier then make sure to do the Achey Breaky trail!

3. Skating at Arrowhead Park
The Ice Trail at Arrowhead Park offers 1.3km of incredible skating. This is a great activity for all ages and makes a great winter memory!

Langdon Hall

langdon hall entry

Langdon Hall is a Relais & Châteaux property located in southern Ontario dating back to 1898. Less than a two-hour drive from the GTA, Langdon Hall is the ULTIMATE overnight or weekend getaway.

The hotel provides a wide range of activities depending on the time of year. Some of our favourites are snowshoeing on their trails, a game of croquet, sitting by the fire pit year round or relaxing at the pool in the summer.

The cuisine at Langdon Hall is exceptional. Afternoon tea is offered Friday’s, Saturday’s and Sunday’s. If you are looking for a day trip brunch at Langdon Hall is a great idea.

Langdon Hall is currently building a brand new state of the art spa, event space and eight new guest rooms.

Destination Guide: St.Barths

Escape the cold this Winter and hit a beach!

St. Barths is one of the most incredible Caribbean islands us girls have visited. If you are looking for a once in a lifetime trip to the Caribbean or a luxury weekend escape from the cold St.Barths is the place to be.

Here are some of our Tips:

Places to Stay:
The last time we visited St.Barths we split our time between Eden Rock and Isle de France. We loved both properties and they are very different from one another.

Eden Rock is located in the heart of St.Jean and is situated at the end of the beach.

The two restaurants at the hotel, Sand Bar and On The Rocks provide exceptional dinning options by Jean-George Vongerichten. Make sure to try one of their signature cocktails!

The art at the property is very unique. Make sure you take the time to check it out. If you are looking to walk to Nikki Beach you are in luck as the hotel is located right next door.

Isle de France is located on Flamands Beach which is a fabulous beach to walk. On this side of the island there is much more surf compared to other parts of the island.

No trip to paradise is complete without a massage. Our visit to the Spa at Isle de France was lovely. There is a private steam room that you can access either before or after your treatment. We highly recommend a visit!

Whether you are looking for breakfast, lunch, dinner or just a drink you cannot go wrong with any of the dining options at this hotel. Our favourite lunch spot on the island is La Cabane de I’Isle where you can have lunch with your toes in the sand!

If you are not staying at the hotel make sure you make a reservation! They also have great sofa seats in the sand if you are travelling with a large party that will make for a fun lunch experience.

Taiwana is located on Flamands Beach as well and right next door to Isle de France. Taiwana is a great hotel with a more affordable price point than Isle de France. If you are looking for a blow dry while on the island they have a great hair salon and cute boutique for women and children’s fashion.

Le Toiny is a Relais & Chateaux property that is located in Anse de Toiny. The hotel offers incredible views of the Caribbean and is the place to stay if you are looking to get away from all the hustle and bustle and unwind in a private villa suite. This is a great hotel for couples looking to relax.

There are many incredible villas on the island for rent. Check out http://www.wimco.com to view a wide selection of properties.

Places to Eat:

Bagatelle is a great italian spot in Gustavia. Request a table by the water and you can be right in the action of town with a spectacular view of the harbour.

If you are looking to party and have a fun dinner experience then Ti St.Barths is the place to go! With an incredible wine list, menu and fashion show you are sure to have a great time.

Maya’s Restaurant a local favourite is located in Plage Public. The menu changes constantly but we loved the Salade de Langouste, Crevette Scampi, Wahoo and of course the Cateau au Chocolat. We had a lovely evening talking with Maya and can’t wait to return.

Bonito is a great place for drinks and to watch the sunset over St.Barths. If you go for lunch or dinner request a table by the edge. They have hands down the best ceviche on the island!

Meat & Potatoes is a great dinning option if you are out by Saline beach.

We had the most fabulous brunch buffet at Restaurant Le Gaiac. This restaurant is located in Le Toiny and a must visit on any trip to St.Barths.

If you are looking to have a great sushi lunch and lounge for the afternoon then Nikki Beach is a must visit. Check the schedule before you go as certain days have themed parties going on. When we were on the island Nikki Beach was throwing a Maroc Party. If you are staying in a villa that is not on the beach then you can reserve a lounge day bed on the beach here.

La Cabane de I’Isle at Isle de France is absolutely fabulous for lunch as is The Sand Bar at Eden Rock. Both places you can reserve lounge chairs at.

Sante Fe is great for lunch or dinner. If you are lucky and it is a super clear day you will have a spectacular view.

Other restaurants that are worth mentioning on the island are Do Brazil, La Plage, Esprit and Isola.

Places to Shop:
There are really two areas to shop in St.Barths. Gustavia which has tons of great boutique and luxury brand stores as well as St.Jean which has more independent boutiques.

In Gustavia we love La Chemise Tropezienne, Calypso, Petit Bateau, Human Steps, Poupette as well as Marina to name a few! In St.Jean we love Bamboo and the Rock Shop.

A Must Do Island Activity:
A visit to St.Barths is not complete without going to Saline beach.

This beach has no amenities like any of the beaches we have mentioned so far. It is absolutely pristine and untouched. Pack your towels, sunblock and some snacks and have a relaxing day on this side of the island.

Looking to get around the island?

We rented a mini cooper while we were on St.Barths as the roads are narrow and windy and relied on Rudy Jules for our evening transportation. He is an exceptional Taxi driver and if you are looking for a car make sure to track him down or contact us and we can put you in touch.
